Animal Control Products (ACP) is a State Owned Enterprise. The business began its operation in the 1950's under the direction and funding of the Ministry of Agriculture and the New Zealand Forest Service, mixing toxins and later manufacturing finished bait products for the agencies involved in controlling a wide range of introduced vertebrate pests including rabbits, wallabies, possums, rooks and feral ungulates.

ACP's manufacturing facility is located at Wanganui in New Zealand's lower North Island. Governance of the company is through a board of directors appointed by Government. The present board of directors comprises Mr Derek Kirke as chairman and Dr David Warburton as director. The Chief Executive Officer is Mr Colin Carter.

In addition to direct sales to government agencies such as the Department of Conservation, to professional pest control operators and to regional councils, ACP has also developed and extensive retail presence with over 150 outlets throughout New Zealand. These outlets are serviced by ACP's authorised distribution agents Bell-Booth Limited operating under the subsidiary "Pestoff Marketing".

ACP operates a proactive research and development program and works closely with Landcare Research and other research agencies to enhance its existing products and develop new innovative solutions for the pest control industry. Overseas markets are also serviced by ACP's well established export capabilities.

Factory

Animal Control Products Ltd has 29 separate product registrations and is licensed by the Ministry of Health and the New Zealand Food Safety Authority to manufacture, pack and sell vertebrate pesticides. ACP received ISO9001 accreditation on 9 September 1997. This was upgraded to ISO9001/2000 on 3 November 2003.
